THE AIDS MEMORIAL SCULPTURE IN ZURICH, SWITZERLAND

In Zurich, Switzerland, the AIDS Memorial Sculpture is located on the picturesque Platspitzplatz, right next to the Swiss National Museum, in a park adjacent to the River Limmatt. Historically this place is of import as it has been host to numerous demonstrations during the era of the AJZ (Autonomes Jugendzentrum or Autonomous Youth Center) as well as being host to one of the main drug trafficking sites. Due to the fact that Switzerland has a rather large HIV/AIDS incidence this spot is the perfect site for the AIDS Memorial Sculpture.
The site, being located just across the central train station (Hauptbahnhof Zuerich), is easily accessed. The park offers many benches and rest areas to contemplate the losses our societies have suffered due to AIDS.

You too might enjoy coming here. This might be the place to live through intense moments of joy, love, anger, pain, sorrow, mourning and again joy and love...

This sculpture only exists in my dreams and in virtual reality... but anything is possible... and maybe you can help make the sculpture become a reality! Share your thoughts:or return to the main page.
