Images on the AIDS Memorial Sculpture

The images on the AIDS Memorial Sculpture are photo-etched into the reddish stainless steel structure by means of a high-tech electrolytical process. This process makes for the etched dots to be particularly precise and deep, and this ensures that the images will remain very clearly readable even with the passage of time (or vandals). Even if the ink used to show off the image were to disappear the images would remain.
